What comes to your mind at first when somebody tells you that he eats healthy food? Most likely, you will think about brown rice, boiled chicken breast, stewed vegetables like broccoli and Brussel sprouts… Of course, all these products are included in our diet, but have you ever thought how many delicious dishes you can cook with these ingredients? I will be honest with you and have to say that it was hard for me to eat the chicken breast. It tasted for me like a piece of rubber with no flavor and aroma. I made myself eat it until I learned how to cook it properly.
Did you know that one of the most important secrets in cooking chicken is marinade? You would be very surprised how can this ordinary meat has so many different flavors just with the experimenting with marinades and souses. Today I will share with you the very simple, but very delicious recipe how to cook your chicken breast. No more tough, tasteless meat! Only juicy, spicy, flavored, a bit sweet dish which will enjoy all your family. You will surely find the necessary ingredients in your fridge so preheat your oven and get to work!
All you need is:
- 2 chicken breasts
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp wholegrain mustard
- ¼ tsp paprika
- salt, pepper to taste (also you can use your favorite spices like dried garlic, mix of spices for chicken, dried onion, basil…) Each ingredient will bring the brand new touch of flavor.
Sometimes I also use soy souse for more piquant taste. You can try it too.
Mix in a bowl all the ingredients and put the chicken breast in this marinade for 30 minutes at least. I usually prepare it for the night and leave it in the fridge for the next day. The longer meat will marinate the more fragrant and soft will be your dish.
Heat your oven to 200 degrees C (400 F). Grease a little bit an ovenproof dish with olive oil. You can use any oil you like, you will need a few drops. Put your chicken into the dish and pour the leftovers of your marinade over the meat. You may add couple of tablespoons of water into the dish, but I don’t do it. Instead of it I cover my chicken with tinfoil and put it in the oven. It might take about 30-40 minutes to bake it. Therefore, I take off the foil 10 minutes before the dish is done.
Basically, this is all you have to do to make a perfect, delicious chicken for lunch or dinner. You can choose your favorite garnish or enjoy it just like that with some fresh vegetables. As for me, I like to serve it with broccoli or green beans. By the way, I can also share one of my tip for making this dish even yummier. I squeeze some lemon juice over the meat and serve it right away. This is just a melody of different savors, which you definitely enjoy!
